Skin Conditions That Can Be Treated Laser Skin Resurfacing Vs. Conventional Face Lift |
![]() |
The removal of facial wrinkles using a new technique called laser skin resurfacing is a medical procedure that is rapidly growing in popularity. The technique has been covered extensively on television and featured in virtually every major consumer magazine.
Cleared for marketing by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, laser skin resurfacing is a newest way to remove wrinkles, warts and scars. All About Youth is now offering it as a way to give their patient's skin a more youthful appearance.
The desire to look one's best is widespread. The aging process, genetics, over exposure to the sun, and other factors all take their toll and leave undesirable effects on our skin. Nowhere are these effects more visible than on the face.
With the availability of laser skin resurfacing, people can realize their dream to look younger again. The procedure safely and effectively removes lines and inconsistencies from the skin to make you look and feel your best.
Skin Conditions That Can Be Treated
Many facial conditions such as fine wrinkling around the eyelids, forehead,
nose and mouth can be smoothened by laser skin resurfacing. Deep laugh
and frown lines can be minimized. Even the lingering effects of scars,
irregular surgical scars, and other surface abnormalities can be successfully
treated.

Laser Skin Resurfacing Vs. Conventional Face Lift
A growing number of people prefer laser skin resurfacing to the conventional face lift. With a conventional face lift, a physician uses a scalpel to cut, remove and stretch your skin.
With All About Youth's laser skin resurfacing, the outer layers of skin are essentially burned away, while the lower layers are tightened. A new layer of skin then grows over the treated area, ultimately becoming a new, smoother surface layer of skin.
When performing laser skin resurfacing, All About Youth uses Laserscope's new Venus™ Laser System. By carefully controlling the interaction between the laser energy and the skin, we can smooth the skin as well as eliminate the bleeding and potential scarring associated with conventional surgical methods.

You may be candidate for Lyra 1064nm Nd:YAG Laser Collagen Rejuvenation and/or Erbium YAG Laser Resurfacing if you have experienced a loss of skin elasticity and muscle tone of the face and neck. A Laser Facial Rejuvenation may also be desirable if you have the appearance of jowls and deep creases between the base of the nose and the corners of the mouth, developed facial and neck wrinkles. A Laser Facial Rejuvenation may also be helpful if you believe you lack youthful chin and neck contours and/or feel you have a tired facial appearance.
A Laser Facial Rejuvenation is intended to give the patient a more rested and youthful contour to the face and neck. Laser Facial Rejuvenation range in intensity from "mini" to "standard" depending on location and extent of skin laxity. The procedure is done on an outpatient basis WITHOUT local anesthesia, sedation, NOR under general anesthesia. The patient goes home or back to work immediately without head and neck wrapped in dressings, which are needed in invasive FaceLift operations. The patient may appear to be mildly wind or sun exposed. Three or four days after the procedure the skin will exfoliate or peel. Minimal initial discomfort is easily controlled with a topical medication. There are NO sutures nor bandages to be removed! There is NO bruising with this procedure! You will NOT have to wait for swelling to decrease to "socially acceptable" levels, which in a Face Lift procedure can take in 10 days to 3 weeks! The final result of a Laser Facial Rejuvenation procedure is up to you. You will continue to see improvement each month. Initial changes will be felt immediately and visual changes will be noticed in 6-8 weeks. The procedure takes about 1/2 hour and utilizes two (2) separate Lasers. 4-5 sessions one month apart are recommended for collagen rejuvenation.
Laser Facial Rejuvenation is considered cosmetic and therefore is not
covered by insurance. The patient is responsible for payment. There are
virtually No risks. Protocol will be explained at the time of consultation.
This is NOT a surgical procedure and does NOT have the inherent risks of
an invasive procedure. Minor/temporary complications or redness or tenderness
that do not affect the outcome occur occasionally. Major complications
are very unusual.
Important Advantage of Laser Skin Resurfacing
Laser skin resurfacing is less costly than a conventional face lift,
it also preserves the anatomical features of your face. With a conventional
face lift, the stretching of the skin over a greater surface area can distort
facial features or result in a "stretched, wind-tunnel" appearance.

Before you decide to undergo a laser skin resurfacing procedure, a thorough consultation with All About Youth staff is required to determine the full nature of the condition to be treated. You and your consultant will agree on the procedure plan and expected results.
Medical Insurance and Procedure Fees
Aesthetic procedures such as laser skin resurfacing are not generally covered by medical insurance plans. Procedure fees vary based on the complexity of the condition and procedure. You can expect to be home the same day.
BOTOX® Cosmetic
Botox® is the trade name of Botulinum Toxin Type A, a purified toxin
produced by the bacterium Clostrdium botulinum. BOTOX® Cosmetic is injected directly
into the skin in extremely small doses. Specific muscles that cause frown
lines are targeted by the injections. These isolated muscles are paralysed
by the Botox, and can no longer contract. The action of frowning is stopped,
and frown lines diminish. Frown lines are caused by the bunching of
skin from facial muscle contractions. When we frown, the skin between our
eyebrows is gathered into a fold which eventually causes a chronic furrow.
This gives our face a frustrated, discouraged, angry look which is distracting
to others and a bother to ourselves. Now you can soften and reduce these
frown lines without surgery and without scars, by a simple BOTOX® Cosmetic treatment
from All About Youth. The
results of BOTOX® Cosmetic treatment start to appear in three to ten days. The treated
muscles will gradually regain their action over three to five months. When
the frown line starts to reappear, a simple repeat treatment is all that is
necessary to maintain the desired results.
